We were one of the first broadband providers to launch a ‘Social Tariff’ aimed at low-income households on benefits, and the very first broadband company in the UK to use the DWP online eligibility checker, making it easier and less intrusive for customers to access our new ‘Social Tariff’, creating a more empowered, confident and cohesive community, where no one is left behind.
Social tariffs for broadband services are particularly important for digital inclusion, especially for those on Universal Credit, Pension Credit, and other welfare benefits.
Providing an affordable service opens wellbeing, employment, education, and health opportunities. Reflecting our focus on the wider community. Changing lives for the better by improving health outcomes, educational attainment and employment opportunities. Reducing loneliness, social isolation and giving a voice to those that are digitally excluded - ensuring that no one is left behind… because we care.
WightFibre was one of four providers, along with EE, Vodafone, and Community Fibre, who introduced new social tariff packages in 2022.
